Dr. Beck is a professor at the University of Connecticut, School of Nursing. Over the past 20 years Dr. Beck has focused her research on postpartum mood and anxiety disorders. She has published over 100 journal articles on such topics as postpartum depression, and birth trauma including PTSD due to childbirth. Dr. Beck is a certified nurse-midwife and holds a master's degree in maternal-newborn nursing from Yale University and received her Doctor of Nursing Science degree from Boston University. Dr. Beck is also a fellow in the American Academy of Nursing. She has received numerous awards such as the Eastern Nursing Research Society’s Distinguished Researcher Award, the Distinguished Alumna Award from Yale University and more.
Speaker and Moderator
Nina Martin, the lead investigative journalist of the Lost Mothers series, will both speak about her two years investigating the U.S. maternal death crisis, and moderate a panel addressing best practices in maternity and maternal mental health care.

Continuing Education Credits
Continuing education credit is available for a fee of $35 (in addition to the Forum registration fee). To sign up for CE credit, please complete the following steps in this order:

Children’s Institute Inc. maintains responsibility for this continuing education program and its content. IVAT is administering the Continuing Education Program under sponsorship by Children’s Institute Inc. This training meets the qualifications for up to 4.75 hours of continuing education credit for Licensed Psychologists, MFTs, LPCCs, LEPs and/or LCSWs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. The BBS continues to recognize APA as an approved provider of continuing education for LCSWs, LMFTs, LPCCs, and LEPs. IVAT is approved by the California Board of Registered Nurses to offer continuing education for nurses (CEP #13737). IVAT is approved by the State Bar of California to offer Minimum Continuing Legal Education for attorneys (#11600). CE credits approved by CA agencies are accepted in most states.
CE Fees are non-refundable, but are transferable within this event.
A $15 administrative fee will be charged if registration is canceled on or before January 31st. No refunds will be processed after that date.

The Charlene and Shane Ventanilla Memorial Scholarship has been established and funded by Cigna, to help those working for community based non-profit organizations, birth and postpartum doulas and/or lactation consultants primarily serving low income mothers, and students studying in a related field, attend the live event for $25. Ten (10) scholarships will be provided.
