2018 Annual Forum – February 9, 2018
This year we are bringing the leading expert in maternal mental health, Katherine Wisner, MD, MS to the stage to review her pioneering research, including the largest study to-date published in JAMA in 2013. She will discuss among other things, depression in African American women, the rising incidence of mental health disorders including bipolar disorders in young women and help us understand the need to address bipolar disorders.
We'll also hear from the pioneer in the relationship between a parent's mental health and an infant's including strategies for addressing infant mental health: Roseanne Clark, PhD.
Attendees will have ample opportunity to network, and will participate in an interactive policy solution round table.

Dr Wisner is the lead investigator of largest study of MMH disorders in the US and founder of the North American Perinatal Maternal Mental Health Society, bringing together researchers and thought leaders in MMH.
Dr Clark is a leader in the infant mental health movement whose work anchors around the critical role of maternal mental health.
Dyane Harwood will be telling her story about suffering from bi-polar disorder in the postpartum period.
Author and expert in the relationship between trauma, psychosis and infanticide.
Robin has provided therapeutic services to hundreds of women, children, and their families in her home state of Illinois. She currently works as a case manager for pregnant members who have a mental health diagnosis at a large Managed Care Organization (MCO) for Medicaid recipients.

Continuing education credit is available for $50 (in addition to the regular registration fee). Credit is offered for psychologists, nurses, MFTs, LPCCs, LEPs, LCSWs, and attorneys. Additional information regarding CE registration information is provided here.
IVAT is approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. IVAT maintains responsibility for this continuing education program and its content.
